Stand with Josh and Mark in calling for a national moratorium on fracking

Tell President Obama and Congress: America Needs a Nationwide Moratorium on Fracking Now

Recently our friends Josh Fox, director of GASLAND, and actor, director and activist Mark Ruffalo traveled to Washington D.C. together to demand that the federal government finally intervene in what has become a nightmare for thousands of people across the U.S.: inherently dangerous gas drilling methods employed by an out-of-control industry operating in secrecy, with the benefit of sweeping exemptions to our most basic environmental and public health protections.

Josh and Mark demanded not only that the American public finally get an unbiased scientific assessment of the true risks of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, and that the gas industry finally play by the same rules as all other industries.

They called on President Obama and Congress to act immediately to stop existing hydraulic fracturing across America, and work to alleviate the growing public health crisis facing communities affected by gas drilling.

As gas companies plan to expand their risky methods to even more communities, from Michigan to New York to Maryland to North Carolina, citizens deserve truth and accountability now more than ever.

Stand with us in calling on President Obama and Congress to impose an immediate nationwide moratorium on all fracking!

Sign the petition for a statewide ban on fracking in New York

Dear Governor Cuomo,

We, the undersigned, call on you to protect the public’s health and safety by instituting a permanent ban on hydraulic fracturing for oil and gas in New York State. The gas industry’s record in 34 states has proven that fracking cannot be done safely, and that nothing short of a ban will protect the citizens of New York. We encourage you to enact a permanent ban immediately.
